The Politics of Politics

Firstly, I’ll admit having made an earnest effort to steer clear of the topic of the foolery involving presidential campaigns and politics altogether. It has honestly proven a difficult feat as that seems to be all anyone who’s still breathing wants to discuss.

Personally, I don’t subscribe to either democratic or republican fundamentals as a vote should be cast for the individual who, in my opinion, presents the most viable plan for resolving concerns as relative to the development and security of our nation. Of course, there have been occasions when what’s presented as a platform during a candidate’s campaign doesn’t come to pass once he’s elected. That has to be due to my lack of understanding concerning the politician’s stated intent. (I really did try to make that sound convincing) There are often times When the elected official’s decisions, once in office, prove worse than anyone could have imagined.

Christians have a directive to “obey the laws of the land” and a duty to vote for the candidate who most closely examples biblical principles as outlined in God’s word. Unfortunately, today’s pickings have become rather slim given that true bible believing politicians seem to be a thing of the past, if they ever truly existed. There are Politicians who will, most often, quickly claim the identity of “Christian” when seemingly beneficial but scrutiny invariably exposes their true character.

Some have Compard the gender identity challenges to the fight for Civil Rights which is truly a slap in the faces of forerunners for the cause like Medgar Evers, Rosa Parks, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to name a few. Dr. King
was quoted as saying “If you won’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything” and this is the plight of the silent majority. Philosopher Edmund Burke summed up what’s transpiring today in the statement, “The only thing necessary for the perpetuation of evil is for good people to do nothing.” Sitting around on our bottoms expecting politicians to legislate morality and decency is the equivalent of trying to extinguish a house fire with gasoline.

Michael Chapman of CNS.com News quoted Dr. Paul R. McHugh, former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, who said transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment and people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting the disorder. That same doctor reported the suicide rate at 20 times higher among transgender patients after reassignment surgery than that among non-transgender people. As well, significant studies at two renowned hospitals disclosed 70%-80% of children who express transgender feelings most often simply change their minds.

“While he was prsident, the Obama administration, Hollywood, and major media like Time magazine promoted transgenderism as normal,” said Dr. McHugh, “these policy makers and the media are doing no favors, either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention. The concept of a ’Sex change’ is biologically impossible,” Dr. McHugh said, “Claiming this is a civil-rights matter and encouraging surgical intervention is in reality to collaborate with and promote a mental disorder.”

Members of the LGBT community have been more-or-less granted a green light to pretty much do as they please though only representative of about three percent of America’s population. The moral majority of this country’s citizenship, excluding most politicians, still stands on the biblical principles upon which our nation was founded. These same religious freedoms have been enjoyed more than 224 years but are now being consistently challenged by the political establishment in the name of misaligned equality.

Included in The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, adopted December 15, 1791, is a clause prohibiting, among other actions, “impeding the free exercise of religion as well as abridging the freedom of speech.” Ironically, to express anything perceived as remotely negative about the LGBT “community” will have one end up in the clutches of those “politically correct” sojourners fighting for what is presented as their rights. At best, this is a medical issue that can’t be “legalized” into the hearts of people, contrary to what activists and our government want us to believe. I could be wrong but it’s just something to consider.
